Yes, I was, but I fear that the curious and
disturbing story of a twelve year-old boy
travelling the steamy jungle back-roads of
Colombia in a '69 Dodge Dart with his adventurous
father on assignment from an American oil company
would not endear me any further to R.A., DD and
some of the others this list. It was there,
however, that Chancaca! first engraved his (its)
presence on my then-impressionable young mind.
